Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Sam Driving School Limited (“Sam Driving School”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information through samdrivingschool.ca and when you contact us. We handle personal information in line with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
- Contact and booking forms: the details you enter, such as your name, phone number, email address, preferred lesson or package, preferred dates and times, pickup area, and any message you write.
- Phone, text and WhatsApp: when you call, text or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, your name if you share it, and the content of your messages.
- Lesson information: information you give us to arrange lessons or road test packages, such as your licence class and driving experience.
- Website usage data: collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies (see section 3).
Please don’t send us sensitive information we haven’t asked for.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your questions and arrange, confirm, reschedule or cancel lessons and road test packages.
- To contact you about your bookings by phone, text, WhatsApp or email.
- To keep records of the services we provide and the payments we receive, as required for business, tax and legal purposes.
- To understand how visitors use our website and to measure how well our advertising works, so we can improve both.
We use your information only for these purposes, or for other purposes we tell you about and you agree to, or as the law permits or requires.
3. Cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads
Our website uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-8QK245PB3K). It uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, your general location, and how you arrived at our site. This helps us understand and improve the website.
We also use Google Ads conversion tracking. If you reach our site through a Google ad, a cookie lets us count certain actions, such as tapping our phone number or WhatsApp link or submitting a contact or booking form. We see these numbers only as totals. They show us whether our ads are working, and they don’t identify you to us.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). You can limit or block cookies in your browser settings, manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The website will still work if you block these cookies.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us run our business and website, such as website hosting, form and email delivery, messaging services, and Google Analytics and Google Ads as described above. These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us;
- with a government body, but only when you ask us to make a road test booking for you and only the information needed for that booking; or
- when the law requires or permits it.
Some of our service providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or Canada, including in the United States. Information stored there may be subject to the laws of that country.
5. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, for example to keep business and tax records. When we no longer need it, we securely delete or destroy it. If we use your information to make a decision about you, we keep it for at least one year after that decision, as PIPA requires.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, change or loss. However, no method of sending or storing information online is completely secure.
7. Your choices, access and correction
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how we have used it, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it (subject to legal or contractual limits). To make a request or ask a question about this policy, call or text us at 1 (778) 885-5062 or use the contact form on our Contact Us page. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time the law allows, which is normally 30 business days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
